Our January crate makers:

Victoria, British Columbia

Created from a mission to offer a better tasting and lower cost nut butter, founder Jill began her recipe adventure in the back of a health food restaurant. She hand-delivered her peanut butters to restaurants all over lower mainland BC, and when people got their hands on FATSO, they just wanted more.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: Jill has a passion for social justice, and FATSO has donated to organizations that focus on harm reduction, housing issues, food security and more. Go Jill!

Vancouver, BC

‘It all started with homemade granola’ - said the founder of Lazy Hari bites - because that homemade taste was missing from store-bought. Granola evolved into experimenting with different textures; these bites are the perfect blend of cookie, cracker and granola in one!

WHY WE LOVE THEM: Who doesn’t love a quick snack that you can just pop into your mouth? We are loving the trend of making ‘bites’ that you can bring anywhere and snack on at any time.

Vancouver, British Columbia

Stemming from an unhealthy relationship with sugary foods, founder Tara found a solution with a gummy bear mould in her kitchen. With her sweets, you get all of the flavour you love - without the sugar!

WHY WE LOVE THEM: We love female-founded companies, and that describes SMART SWEETS. Not to mention their gummies are vegan friendly as well.

 (Lilo & Co.)

Three chefs embarked on a journey to ignite small town taste buds with their gourmet candy. Their candies are small-batch and handmade, so you know that every package you get will be quality.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: We were so excited when we found these guys! Their passion is contagious and how could you not love crunchy caramel flavours?

Langley, BC

Tired of feeling tired, Alice and her family changed their eating habits and learned two important lessons which is now the basis of their fabulous ‘fat bombs’: 1. sugar is bad for you, and 2. healthy fats are good for you.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: They’ve created a fudgy, chocolatey, indulgent treat without any added sugars. The guilt train has left the station!

La Prairie, Quebec

Their translucent, cylinder-shaped lollipops are based on a centuries-old recipe that was first developed in France. They specialize in making hand-made, traditional ‘sucre d’orge’ in a variety of flavours.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: Have you noticed that we are suckers for sweets (see what I did there?!) We love delving into the traditions of our country, and this pays homage to that.

Vancouver, BC

Husband and wife duo Sora and Hiro began their pudding journey in 2011. Sora would host poetry events while Hiro provided the vegan baking. There was a request for vegan pudding, and after receiving great feedback on the recipe, the rest is history!

WHY WE LOVE THEM: We see a lot of vegan options nowadays, but pudding typically isn’t one! We love that they brought this product to the market, for vegans and non alike to enjoy.

Toronto, Ontario

Suzie spent three years researching nutrition and uncovering the misinformation about sugar and fats. She developed Love Good Fats so herself, her family and everyone in North America could enjoy good fats again, conveniently.

WHY WE LOVE THEM: Because she dared to challenge the fad diets that were making her unhealthy and developed a delicious snack based on years of solid research!
